In the summer of 2023, Lisa Blish joined Didion as a Packaging Operator in Markesan — not knowing her summer job would become the first step in a growing career.

When fall came around, Lisa left Didion to return to Moraine Park Technical College, where she completed her associate degree in mechanical engineering. After graduating, she was eager for a new challenge and returned to Didion as a Reliability Project Assistant, working alongside the summer interns on a continuous improvement project.

For Lisa, Didion is more than just a workplace — it’s a supportive community where she feels valued and encouraged to grow.

“The people here make it fulfilling to come to work every day. It truly feels like a second family,” she said. “Management’s desire to see people succeed is really motivating.”

Her passion for continuous learning has only grown since joining the team. Every day, she’s building her understanding of how corn milling and ethanol production processes work together. Looking ahead, Lisa hopes to pursue a bachelor’s degree in engineering, with the goal of becoming a Process Engineer at Didion.

“Her great work ethic and motivation to make a difference really stood out,” said John Bosco, Director of Corporate Reliability. “She kept the asset walkdown project months ahead of schedule and saw it through to completion after the interns returned to school. She’s grown quickly in her role and continues to make meaningful contributions to the team. That kind of curiosity and commitment is exactly what Didion values.”

Lisa’s path is a clear example of how determination, hands-on experience, and a passion for learning can shape a rewarding and meaningful career in manufacturing.
