Fifty years ago, John and Dow Didion, young entrepreneurs with an agricultural instinct, recognized the challenge area farmers faced to market and sell their grain. That instinct can be traced back to accompanying their father, a veterinarian, to help area farmers and neighbors when on farm visits or in the vet clinic attached to the family’s house.
On a mission to help farmers and support the rural community, Dow and John constructed their first grain elevator in Johnson Creek, Wisconsin in 1972. The success at Johnson Creek quickly lead to expansion. Didion grew to a total of 8 locations in the 1980’s and was the first Wisconsin grain company to transport grain by railroad creating more opportunities for farmers around the state.
Today, nurtured with 50 years of dedication, passion, and technology, Didion successfully operates North America’s newest and most advanced dry corn mill; manufactures multiple grades of alcohol; and provides life-sustaining food to famine relief programs across the world.
