Maintenance and Reliability Manager

What organization(s) do you volunteer for and how long have you been a volunteer with them?

I serve on the Dodge County 4-H Livestock committee and have volunteered with the 4-H group for the past 9 years.

What motivated you to volunteer with the Dodge County 4-H?

Growing up, I was an active member in my local FFA chapter and competed in livestock shows. When my daughter began to show interest in joining 4-H and showing cattle, it motivated me to become a volunteer. During her time in 4-H, she won several awards and was always a top contender at the county fair level and shows across the state. After she was done showing, I wanted to continue supporting the program for area youth.

What has been the most memorable accomplishment of your volunteer experience?

My most memorable accomplishment is when our group of committee members ran the county livestock show after most groups had to cancel due to COVID. This was six months after the pandemic started in 2020 and most people were excited to get out in the fresh air – there were a lot of smiling faces that weekend.

What should people consider when they are thinking about volunteering?

Find something you are passionate about that can positively impact the lives around you.
